COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 5,2000 PSA#2572STERLING SOFTWARE MIPS ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT The Postal Service awarded
on a sole source basis to Sterling Software Inc. a contract for a MIPS
based Enterprise License Agreement to purchase MIP upgrades and
maintenance in support of the United States Postal Service mainframe
configurations located at the San Mateo, CA and Eagan, MN Computing
Operations Service Centers, and Raleigh, NC Disaster Recovery Center.
Sterling Software is the sole proprietor of these commercial
off-the-shelf (COTS) software products, which are currently installed
on USPS mainframes and are utilized by the Service Centers. The maximum
contract value including four, one-year option periods is
$11,660,175.00, depending upon which software licensing option the
Postal Service elects to exercise. Information received as a result of
this notice will normally be considered solely for the purpose of
determining whether to conduct a future competitive procurement.
