On or about 4/10/00, this office will issue a Request for Proposal for construction of Alternate Quarters/Remodel at ST PAUL MN 55109-9998. Proposals will be opened on 5/9/00 at 3:00 PM. THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC PROPOSAL OPENING. The value of the work is estimated to be between $1,250,000.00 and $1,750,000.00. Description of the work is that the project consists of remodeling an existing 25,500 sf warehouse located at 1686 Gervais Avenue, Maplewood, MN, for use as a postal carrier annex. The work includes: interior demolition; disassembly and removal of modular steel storage mezzanines; construction of parking garage, concrete slab and dock, workroom and support areas within the existing building; and site improvements including storm sewers, lighting, walks and paved maneuvering areas. The contractor will be required to commence work within 10 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed and complete within 120 calendar days. Liquidated damages will be accessed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. There will be a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE FOR PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
