COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures in FAR 13 and the
format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information
included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only
solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation
will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for
Quotation (RFQ), DAKF61-00-Q-0042 and is due by COB 26 April 2000. This
RFQ is set aside 100% for small business, the SIC code is 3448, and the
small business size standard is 500 employees. A fixed price contract
is anticipated with one line item. CLIN 0001 Furnish and install three
(3) picnic shelters to include site work, slab construction, and
erection of the shelters on site. 1 JOB @ $_____________._____. SUMMARY
OF WORK (Request drawings via FAX 608-388-7080) 1.1.1 Provide and
install three (3) picnic shelters to include site work, slab
construction, and erection of shelters on site. Actual performance on
site totals 45 calendar days. 1.1.2 Contractor to provide all tools,
materials, and labor to install slabs and erect shelters. Drawings
showing location of shelter are provided. Drawings showing basic
structure, footings, and slab requirements are provided. 1.2 REMOVAL:
1.2.1 Remove 6" of surface material at each site. Haul material to
designated location (round trip will not exceed 16 miles). In areas
needing fill surface material must be removed first. Fill to be
provided by contractor. 1.3 NEW WORK: 1.3.1 Establish elevation of slab
so top of slab is at 4" above grade. Excavate and pour frost footers
for each support column. Prepare sub-grade for slab utilizing compacted
crushed gravel/sand. Concrete slab to be 6" thick utilizing a 6 bag mix
with fiber reinforcement to a ratio of one 5# bag per cubic yard. Slab
to extend 3 feet beyond finished roofline in all directions and slope
to outside edge. Slab to have expansion/control joints at points per
manufacturers instructions. 1.3.2 Furnish, assemble and install each
shelter per manufacturers instructions. Location/orientation of
shelters to be marked by the COR. 1.3.3 Place black dirt around
perimeter of shelter, landscape/re-seed area. Slope to edge of slab.
1.3.4 Stub in 1-1/4" PVC conduit for future electrical service next to
corner column. 1.4 DETAIL INFORMATION: 1.4.1 Shelters for Pine View
Recreation Area beach, campground and picnic area. Requirement is for
three (3) shelters, approximately 36' wide x 10' high, in an octagonal
shape with a two roof system on a concrete slab. 1.5 MATERIAL: 1.5.1
Picnic shelter, the government is looking for low maintenance,
well-constructed, and attractive picnic shelters. Vendors are not
required to quote the exact model, however, they should offer a product
with similar features. Based upon Pittsburgh Octagonal Duotop Model
8532D, By Litchfield Industries, Inc, Litchfield, MI 49252, telephone
1-800-542-5282. The government is interested in the following features:
Steel roof decking and steel structure. Roof decking/structure shall be
able to withstand a 40 lb. live load and 20 lb. (95-100 MPH) wind load.
Roof panels shall be of 24 gauge steel panels, featuring a galvalume
substrate and Kynar 500 coating with matching fascia and trim, color of
one (1) shelter roof Red, one(1) shelter roof green, and one (1)
shelter roof blue. The frame of the shelter shall be ASTM A-500 grade
B tube steel, factory welded per latest AWS standards. Field welding
will not be required. The steel frame shall be factory prime painted
and one coat of durable finish paint applied (color Black). The shelter
shall be designed to the current UBC Building Code. 1.5.2 Concrete, 6
bag mix containing 3/4 aggregate and fiber reinforcement with light
broom finish. 1.5.3 Submittals: Required for shelter and slab detail
for approval. 2 complete sets of product manuals/drawings for each
shelter. 1.6 Additional information: 1.6.1 No electric is available at
the building sites. 1.6.2 Site visits are available and encouraged if
set up through the POC: 1.6.3 Point of Contract (POC) for additional

608-388-4613. 1.6.4 Contractor is responsible for coordinating with
government as to utility location prior to digging. Offerors DUNS
