The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) is seeking small business sources to provide the services of a technical editor for the HCFA Review and other technical health articles. Applicant must demonstrate skills that involve writing or editing technical materials, such as reports of research findings; scientific or technical articles, news releases, and periodicals; regulations in technical areas; technical manuals, specifications, brochures, and pamphlets; or speeches or scripts on scientific or technical subjects. Applicant must demonstrate a familiarity with health financing related topics -- especially related to Medicare and Medicaid-nomenclature, abbreviations, acronyms, etc. Applicant must demonstrate the ability to edit the aforementioned topics at a level suitable for the intended technical audience. Applicant must also have the following skills and advanced working knowledge: (1) Microsoft Word Office 97 or newer -- IBM/PC format. (2) Microsoft Excel Office 97 or newer, particularly in the formatting -- rather than the creation -- of data tables and figures in IBM/PC format. (3) WordPerfect 8.0 or newer -- IBM/PC format. (4) Creation and use of Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format files. (5) Familiarity with the GPO Style manual. (6) Familiarity with health financing related topics -- especially related to Medicare and Medicaid-nomenclature, abbreviations, acronyms, etc. (7) E-Mail address and ability to use. Contractor would be expected to work closely with the Government Project Officer and meet with the Project Officer on a regular basis. All travel would be at the contractor's expense. All interested parties would be expected to provide resumes. Once resumes and capabilities of the interested parties responding to this notice have been received HCFA intends to award a government purchase order under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (dollar threshold of $100,000).
