The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is soliciting proposals
from qualified organizations having in-house capability to provide
assistance in fostering partnerships between researchers and
community-based drug abuse treatment providers to enhance the adoption
of research findings into clinical practice. Specifically, to: (1)
plan, organize, and arrange a series of research to practice meetings
throughout the nation; (2) convene and maintain communications with a
local planning committee for each meeting that include representatives
from state and local drug abuse researchers, community leaders, and
service providers; (3) prepare all materials to be used in the
meetings; (4) summarize key findings and recommendations generated from
each meeting; and (5) coordinate follow-up technical assistance offered
to local communities. Organizations submitting proposals should
demonstrate extensive experience in conference and meeting planning,
and the delivery of technical assistance related to drug abuse research
dissemination and application. Specifically, organizations submitting
should have experience in (1) planning and conducting all phases of
meeting planning, including needs assessment, logistics coordination,
graphics development, and report writing; (2) translating and
disseminating research findings on drug abuse to practitioners; and (3)
designing and conducting technical assistance to state and local drug
abuse authorities and treatment providers. NIDA anticipates that a
2-year (with options for 2 additional years), cost reimbursement type
contract will result from this procurement. RFP No. N01DA-0-1101 will
be available electronically on or about April 21, 2000, and may be

this acquisition will be streamlined to include only the Work
Statement, Deliverables and Reporting Requirements, Special
Requirements and Mandatory Qualifications, Technical Evaluation
Criteria, and other necessary Proposal Preparation Instructions. All
information required for the submission of an offer will be contained
in the electronic RFP package. Following proposal submission and the
initial review process, offerors comprising the competitive range may
be requested to provide additional documentation to the Contracting
Officer. Response to the RFP will be due on or about May 22, 2000. The
