ACALA ACADEMY COLLEGE COURSES The U. S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, Rock Island (TACOM-RI), Rock Island, IL, intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract to St. Ambrose University, Davenport, IA, for a series of eight undergraduate college courses to be conducted over a two year period. The authority cited for this action is 10 USC 2304 (c)(1), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, as authorized by FAR 6.302-1. This procurement is in support of ACALA Academy, a program designed to provide focused education to enhance development of integrated business and leadership skills. Courses will be accelerated in duration, i.e., one class meeting per week for a period of 8 weeks. All classes will be held on-site at Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL, during the business day, and students will attend on official duty time. This action will result in award of a long term (2 years), firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity (IDIQ) type contract. The contract will span two fiscal years -- FY01 and FY02, and the period of performance will not exceed 31 October 2002. It is estimated that 1-2 classes with no more than 30 students per class will be held in each of the four 8-week sessions to be conducted each fiscal year of the contract. The maximum number of courses to be ordered over the term of the contract will be 16. The maximum number of students will be 480. The anticipated date of award is 30 Jun 00.
