Sources Sought/Request for Information. Bechtel Nevada is currently upgrading the Nevada Test Site 138kV power system. Existing electromechanical relays are to be replaced with modern solid-state microprocessor based relays and existing 138kV Circuit Switchers are to be replaced with 138kV SF6 Gas Insulated Circuit Breakers. The design requirements are provided by Bechtel Nevada and will require installation and construction by a sub-contractor. Construction will be in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Interested parties should submit a brief experience statement showing (1) multidisciplinary team experienced in the installation of solid-state microprocessor based relays; i.e. Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) type relays in 138kV substation environments and installation of 138KV SF6 Gas Insulated Circuit Breakers. (2) specific examples of experience in the area of 138kV substation construction including structural concrete foundations, steel support structures, and 138kV bus modifications.
