36 -- DESIGN, MANUFACTURE, AND INSTALL NEW SWITCHGEAR AT BONNEVILLE LOCK AND DAM SOL DACW57-00-R-0022 DUE 081800 POC Wanda Ferris, Contract Specialist at (503) 808-4610 The Portland District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to award a contract to design, manufacture, and install new switchgear, busduct, transformer, and remote control and monitoring system in the first powerhouse at the Bonneville Lock and Dam project in Cascade Locks, Oregon. The new 5 kV rated double-ended station-service switchgear shall consist of four (4) supply breakers, twelve (12) feeder breakers, and one (1) tie breaker along with CTs, PTs, digital trip units, power analyzers, and appurtenances to provide a complete system. The new 5 kV non-segregated bus duct is from the power sources to the new switchgear. The new indoor 5 MVA, 13.2kV-2400V, ambient air-cooled transformer is for the new switchgear. Furnish hardware, software, and programming services for the installation of a new digital remote control system for operation of the new switchgear breakers and for power systems analysis from the powerhouse control room. Additional site-work will include the installation of conduits and cable to feed the existing station service loads from the new switchgear, installation of conduits and cable for control power, communications, and annunciation to the new switchgear, the relocation of water and sewer pipes in the vicinity of the new switchgear, and the removal of existing transformer, busduct, conduits, and cable that will no longer be required. Some minor asbestos abatement work lead-based paint removal may be required in conjunction with the equipment removal activities. Solicitation No. DACW57-00-R-0022 will be issued on or about July 17, 2000. Submission of descriptive data and a layout drawing are required. This procurement is open to both large and small business concerns. The small business size standard is a concern, including all affiliates, with not more than 750 employees.
