Secret Service intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, with Motorola, Inc. 7230 Parkway Drive, Hanover, MD 21076, for the retrofit and upgrading of 300 Astro Saber radio's to the IMBE platform using government-furnished parts. The Astro Saber Radio is proprietary to Motorola. Labor shall include the reading of Radio/Save and Archive file. Installation of government-furnished parts. RX (Baker/Oscar) fix, add capacitor, realignment of radio (Tx/Rx) Relead "Saved Archive" file. ITEM NO. 0001 -- Retrofit and Upgrade of Astro Saber Radio's, Qty. 300, EACH, Delivery: March 1, 2000 F.O.B. Destination. Inspection and acceptance shall be at destination. Solicitation package is not available. This is a notice of intent to sole source and is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement, on a full and open competitive basis upon receipt of responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested firms must submit capability statements and provide written pricing information. Only written responses will be accepted and must be received within seven (7) calendar days of the date of this notice.
