The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to purchase the following items on a sole source basis from the manufacturer, DEC (Compaq), or it's authorized resellers. Offerors must provide verification of their authorized reseller status. These components shall be used to upgrade the existing AEGIS Combat System Interface Simulator (ACSIS) AEGIS VAX 6410 systems at the AEGIS Training and Readiness Center (ATRC), Dahlgren, VA (Items 0001 through 0018 below) and the Surface Combat System Center (SCSC), Wallops Island, VA (Items 0019 through 0036 below). The existing ACSIS applications have been developed around the DEC (Compaq) platform. This acquisition must be sole source based on the requirement to maintain compatibility (equipment and application) with the developers and the AEGIS fleet to ensure the SCSC and ATRC can support their respective mission. Offerors shall include a description of the Commercial Warranty with their offer. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only written notice; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be used in accordance with FAR 13.5. The closing date is 2 PM 14 April 2000.
