Chassis (Certification Compliance Item) The intended use of this trailer involves frequent relocation requiring long distance highway transport. The normal gross vehicle weight of this trailer during transport is estimated to be 18,000 lbs. This weight may be assumed to be uniformly distributed along the length of the trailer. The trailer frame and drawbar system shall be of steel fabrication, protected to prevent corrosion, and specifically designed and manufactured to accommodate the intended use. The frame and drawbar system shall be designed to support the entire gross vehicle design weight. The design shall consider the adverse effects of frequent long distance transport. The effects of impact loading due to highway conditions, and vibration of the complete system during transport, shall be assumed to increase the gross vehicle design weight by 25% for the design of all members.
