U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Prevention,=
Pesticides and Toxic Substances, Office of Science Coordination and =
Policy, has a requirement for technical support of its Endocrine
Disruptor = Screening Program, established to comply with requirements
of the Food = Quality Protection Act and Amendments to the Safe
Drinking Water Act of = 1996. The requirement entails comprehensive
toxicological and ecotoxicolog= ical testing services, including
chemical analytical, statistical and = quality assurance/quality
control support, to assist the Agency in = developing, standardizing
and validating a suite of in vitro, mammalian = and ecotoxicological
screens and tests for identifying and characterizing = endocrine
effects in pesticides, industrial chemicals and environmental =
contaminants. The effort will include the conduct of laboratory studies
= and associated analyses to validate the assays proposed for inclusion
in = EPA*s Endocrine Screening Disruptor Program; management, testing
and = consulting services for use in the development, demonstration,
standardizat= ion and validation of endocrine disruptor screens and
tests; design and = performance of toxicity test demonstrations and
comparative studies; and = development of new guidelines for
ecotoxicity and toxicity testing. This = requirement will be procured
using FULL AND OPEN COMPETITIVE PROCEDURES. = The SIC Code for this
requirement is 8734. EPA anticipates awarding a = cost plus fixed fee
contract with a period of performance totaling five = years (a two-year
base period and three one year options). The level of = effort for all
option periods and incremental options contemplated is = 375,500. The
purpose of this CBD announcement is to notify potential = offeror*s of
EPA*s requirement and to direct interested parties to the = EPA*s
*Doing Business with EPA* Internet World Wide Web site, for further =
information on this procurement as it becomes available. The
solicitation,= amendments and other related items will be posted on the
site and can be = downloaded. Hard copies will not be mailed out
without written certificati= on that internet capability is
