The FISC Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia intends to acquire Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) services on a full and open competitive basis for the Naval Training Center (NTC) Great Lakes, IL. The anticipated release date of solicitation N00140-00-R-N548 is on or around 19 Jun 00. The Great Lakes MWR includes, but is not limited to, the following programs: Youth & Family Activities, Auto Skills, Library, Single Sailor, Community Special Events, Outdoor Recreation, Sports & Fitness, Computer Services, Marketing Services and Warehousing Services. The service provider shall provide all labor and material associated with operating the scope of the program as outlined above. Facilities and major equipment will be provided by the government. A firm fixed price contract is anticipated, with a base period of performance tentatively scheduled for 01 Oct 01 through 30 Sep 02 and four one-year option periods. This solicitation is part of a Government cost comparison to determine whether accomplishing the specified work under contract or by Government performance is more economical. If Government performance is determined to be more economical, this solicitation will be cancelled and no contract will be awarded.
