The specifications for automated static cutting system able to cut-out composite materials is as follows: Cutting Capabilities: Composite Materials dry and pre-preg (Graphite, Kevlar, Glass, Spectra and boron fiber systems) also capable of cutting composite core materials; Cutting Area: 72" X 108"; Cutting Speed: 40 inches per second; Split able operations for different applications; Cutting table self contained with vacuum system (i.e. porous table surface); Multiple tool mounts (straight knife, wheel blade, drill punch, etc.); Onboard control panel with full interface terminal and joystick; Windows-based operating system that will interface with Pro-Engineer (DXF and HPGL file types), cut data can be stored and subsequently used, automate preprocessing of the data, training and system support; The cutting system must be demonstrated at the Naval Air Warfare Centers Composite Facility.
