The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) sole source contract for commercial items to Tim Price, Incorporated doing business as (DBA) Contact Corporation, 113 Executive Drive, Suite 110, Sterling, Virginia 20166 in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency. The Contact Corporation is the developer of a proprietary transportation and erection system allowing safe mast erection by a single operator. The 30 meter mast and erection system is a proprietary design available only from Contact Corporation. The requirement is for a Shore Mount Accessory Kit (SMAK). The SMAK will upgrade the existing AN/MRC-142 UHF radio terminal set to allow for improved ship-to-shore, digital, multi-channel communications. The SMAK will add the following to the currently existing AN/MRC-142: An AN/ MRC-142 30m Mast Installation Kit, consisting of: A 100 ft telescoping mast system, An AN/MRC-142 vehicular mast mounting and erector system, two (2) 1100 degree broad beam SMAK antennas developed by SPAWAR and antenna positioning devices, Antenna cable handling sub-system and a 50 watt amplifier. The contractor will act as the Depot for repair of the SMAK parts/components. In addition, a two-year warranty will be provided to include a method for tracking failures to the component level. The period of performance will be for two years after contract award. The anticipated quantities are 18 units plus spares with deliveries to begin 180 days after contract award.
