The United States Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command-Warren (TACOM-Warren) will be issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the acquisition of development, manufacture and test of High Energy Density capacitors in support of the Army's Future Combat System initiative. This effort will be acquired on a Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee basis with TPL Corporation, Albuquerque, New Mexico. The period of performance for this effort shall be three years. Any proposal received as a result of this synopsis will be evaluated for possible competition. The proposed contract is sole source. The solicitation will be issued in electronic format. The solicitation will be posted a our web site at http://contracting.tacom.army.mil/acqcen/research/researchproc.html. All solicitations issued after 1 Apr 1999 require offerors to submit offers paperlessly: only electronic format will be accepted. Contractors will be required to submit their response in one of the following electronic mediums: via 100 megabyte Zip*-disk, e-mail,3 1/2 inch disk, or 650 magabyte CD ROM.
