Officer via, koontzp@od.nih.gov. The National Institutes of Health has
a requirement for Maintenance and Repair Services for Government-owned
Kendro/Sorvall Centrifuges. The Contractor shall provide preventive and
remedial maintenance services. The Contractor shall provide all labor,
supervision, tools, materials (including manuals and schematics),
parts, equipment and transportation necessary to maintain the
applicable Kendro/Sorvall centrifuges including support of an emergency
call Response Center. The Contractor's Field Service Engineers and
Response Center shall be in operation during the typical Government
working hours (hours of operation) of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding
weekends and Federal holidays, During these hours of operation, the
Contractor shall respond, inspect, and restore each instrument to it's
original specified operating parameters within forth eight (48) hours
after an emergency call is placed. The Contractor shall provide
personnel experienced and qualified to perform the required services in
accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) practices and
standards. These centrifuges are located at the National Institutes of
Health (NIH), Bethesda, Maryland and any other NIH facilities within
a fifty (50) mile radius of the Bethesda facilities, and for the
National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research
Triangle Park, North Carolina and other facilities within a fifty (50)
mile radius of the NIEHS facilities. The Contractor must have a
Quality Control Plan. Performance objectives will be established for
the Contractor in the fulfillment of its service requirements and
penalties will be established for failure to maintain performance
standards. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The purpose of this
synopsis is to ascertain small business sources for this type of
service. It must be understood that all sources must have the financial
capacity to perform this volume of business and that reimbursement may
not be made by the Government for 60-90 days after the contractor has
incurred the costs. Responses will not be considered as either bids or
proposals and cost and pricing data must not be submitted. Concise
responses directed specifically to the requirements mentioned above are
requested and will be considered. Only interested small business
sources possessing experience shall demonstrate their capabilities and
financial capacity to handle the specified services. NOTE: Standard
Industrial Code is7629. The Size Standard is the average annual sales
or receipts for its preceding three (3) fiscal years that are not in
