Provide a personal services Licensed Registered Nurse to oversee Utilization Management (UM) and Utilization Review (UR) activities at the 377th Medical Group, Kirtland AFB NM. UM activities include necessity of care determinations with emphasis on disease and demand management, and case management. UR activities focus on the review of the patients_ records by applying specific criteria or using clinical judgement to assess medical necessity and appropriateness of care provided to patients and efficiency of the user of healthcare services, procedures, and facilities. The Contractor shall oversee UM and UR activities including necessity of care determinations with emphasis on disease and demand management, appointment utilization, case management. The contractor shall have at least five years nursing experience and at least one-year experience in utilization management. The contractor shall be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, acceptable to the Air Force Surgeon General. The contractor should possess Interqual and Milliman and Roberts utilization review training for inpatient/outpatient criteria. A Bachelor_s degree in nursing is a mandatory minimum requirement. The Contractor shall possess a valid unrestricted state-nursing license for New Mexico. The proposed procurement is under a 100 percent small business set aside. The period of performance is 01 Jun 00 _ 30 Sep 00. Four one-year option periods may be awarded. This solicitation will be issued approximately 12 May 2000.
