NASA/HQ plans to issue, on a competitive basis to an 8(a) certified, small business, Request for Offer (RFO) W-02950 for Security Services for the NASA Headquarters facility in Washington, D.C. The contractor will provide security services 24 hours a day 365 days per year. The security services contractor will operate, and maintain an unarmed and uniformed protective force for the physical protection of the NASA security interests and provide security support services, e.g., locksmithing, electronic security, classified document control, classified and sensitive material destruction, security container (safe) tracking, badge and identification services, key and keycard control, investigative services, security awareness and education services and other such related duties at the NASA Headquarters complex and any other area designated as the responsibility of NASA Headquarters. The contractor shall furnish management, supervision, staff, training, equipment, materials, and supplies necessary to provide the protective and security services required, including replacement or substitute equipment and staffing to maintain full services required at all times at NASA Headquarters locations. This procurement is a 100% set-aside for SBA-certified, 8(a) small business. See Note 1. It is anticipated that a firm fixed price contract will be issued with a 1-year basic period and 4 1-year option periods. The anticipated start date is July 3, 2000. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 7381 and $9.0 million, respectively. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the agency. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about April 24, 2000 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about May 22, 2000. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
