The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport, Rhode Island (NUWCDIVNPT) intends to acquire program management and program engineering support services for the Navy Support Software for Standard Embedded Computer Resources (NSS/SECR) Program from Lockheed Martin Tactical Defense Systems, Eagan, P.O. Box 64525, St. Paul, MN 55164-0525 on a sole source basis. Lockheed Martin is the current and original manufacturer of the hardware, software, and firmware for the NSS/SECR computer systems including the AN/UYK-44, AN/UYK-7, AN/UYK-20, AN/AYK-14, and MIL-STD-1750A computer systems. Lockheed Martin is the only know source with extensive knowledge of the inner workings of these computer systems. The estimated level of effort is 513 engineering and support hours with a performance period to 30 September 2000. A formal solicitation will not be issued. Quotes from other responsible sources will be considered if submitted. The Standard Industrial Classification code is 8711; the size standard is $20 million.
