This event is promoted to 10,000 active duty and civilian personnel, Navy Submarine School, Naval Submarine Support Facility, and Submarine Force Tactical Development Group, as well as all major tenant commands, including Submarine Squadron Support Unit, Naval Submarine Medical Research Laboratory, and METOC. The Navy's first Submarine Base, New London supports 21 attack submarines and houses the nuclear research deep submersible NR-1.
