Proposed procurement of fourteen (14) SF6 Gas Circuit Breakers, spare parts, and the services of Erecting Engineers for Carter Powerplant, Chatsworth, Georgia. There will be optional line items for twelve (12) SF6 Gas Circuit Breakers, spare parts and the services of Erecting Engineers for Hartwell Powerplant, Hartwell, Georgia. The breakers shall be three-pole, single-throw, fully automatic, outdoor dead tank type with single pressure interrupter units using the puffer principle and with pneumatic, hydraulic, or spring operating mechanism. The breakers shall use sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas as a dielectric and as an arc-extinguishing medium. Application will be outdoors in unconfined air, in a hydroelectric powerhouse substation at an altitude below 3,300 feet, within ambient temperature extremes of -30C to +40C. The entire assembly shall be capable of withstanding wind of 80 miles per hour, and -.5g seismic acceleration in any direction, but not simultaneously. This is a Civil Works Program procurement and is not funded by the Department of Defense. This is an unrestricted procurement. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
