Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport Rhode Island (NUWCDIVNPT),
intends to purchase (1) Towed Array Integrated Product Team (TAIPT)
Telemetry Towed Array Test Set (TATS) Subsystem from Chesapeake
Sciences Corporation, 1127B Benfield Blvd., Millersville, MD 21108 on
a sole source basis. The TATS Subsystem will include a) CSC #2003B03067
single function HUB VME card, b) CSC#2003B0318 Array controller VME
card, c.) CSC#2003B0421 Modem/network interface/power decoupler
circuits d) CSC #2003B0321 digital to analog converter VME card. e) 7
slot VME chassis, 256 RAM, dual Pentium PC, ATM PCI, CD-ROM. The TATS
subsystem must be compatible with the Towed Array Telemetry
characteristics established by the TAIPT as specified in NAVSEA
document IRS2121A0010, "Interface Requirements specification for the
TAIPT Telemetry System." The TATS must support Asynchronous Transfer
Mode and Synchronous Optical NETwork (SONET) OC-3c and STS-3c
communication standards. The TATS subsystem must interface with towed
arrays at both the ATM/SONET level and at the low level shift register
telemetry level. The TATS Subsystem must have two channels of digital
to analog converter (DAC) output that allow continuous real-time
monitoring of hydrophone data acquired by the towed array using TAIPT
telemetry. The TATS Subsystem must operate with any towed array built
using TAIPT Telemetry, including but not limited to the TB-29A
submarine Thin Line towed array, the Multi-Function Towed Array, and
the Near Term Multiline Towed Array. The TATS Subsystem must include a
dry end Modulator-Demodulator capability. Chesapeake Sciences
Corporation is producing TATS Subsystems under a US Navy Small Business
Innovation Research (SBIR) project which satisfy all of the above
requirements and is the only know source for the TATS Subsystem.
Delivery shall be F.O.B. destination to NUWCDIVNPT by 01 June 2000. A
formal solicitation will not be issued. Quotes from other responsible
vendors will be considered if submitted. The Standard Industrial Code
(SIC) is 3812; the size standard is 500 employees. Our department no
