PAVILION SOL S-LC00044 POC Charlotte A. Mathis, (202) 707-8604 The
Library of Congress seeks a contract for the design, fabrication and
installation of five (5) cases for the Whittall Pavilion in the Thomas
Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress. The cases shall be
designed to meet the safety, security, conservation, Architect of the
Captiol, aesthetic, and environmental requirements prescribed by the
Library of Congress. These cases will be placed into existing built-in
cabinets and shall be designed to be adaptable and easy to use. These
factors are extremely important based on the value and potential
adjustment to the exhibits currently scheduled for this space which
include extremely valuable musical instruments. Contractor shall
provide 2 drawings -- schematics/sketch, of the arched cabinet and one
other of their choosing. The cases to be designed, fabricated and
installed under this contract must be in place before October 31, 2000.
Accordingly, time is of the essence in the completion of this
requirement. Solicitation will be issued on or about April 25, 2000.
There will be a site-visit shortly after release of the RFP.
Information will be provided as to time and place of the site-visit in
