99 -- RISK ADJUSTMENT ANALYSIS SPECIAL POPULATIONS" DUE 042700 POC Renee Wallace, (410) 786-5128 The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) intends to award under Simplified Acquisition Procedures, a firm fixed price award, on a sole source basis to Christopher Hogan, 506 Moorefield Road, SW, Vienna Virginia 22185. The contractor to conduct analyses to support risk adjustment for special populations. The contractor will perform the following tasks: 1. Analyze the characteristics fo populations enrolled in the Social HMO (SHMO), Evercare and Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) projects. 2. Examine the feasibility of various options for modifying the Principal Inpatient Diagnostic Cost Group (PIPDCG) or comprehensive risk adjustment model using survey-based data. The contractor shall attend a 2 hour meeting in Baltimore, Maryland within 2 weeks of award to discuss the scope and time frame of this project. The contractor shall attend meetings with HCFA staff in Baltimore on an as-needed basis, and shall attend a final meeting with HCFA at the conclusion of the project. The contractor shall provide monthly status reports. The monthly status report shall address progress during the previous month, activities planned versus actual resource consumption by task. Information on the characteristics of Long Term Care (LTC) populations is to be provided in tapes, interim and final files, and file documentation upon request by the project officer.
