A -- BACTERIOLOGY AND MYCOLOGY STUDY GROUP (BAMSG) SOL RFP NIH-NIAID-DMID-01-11 DUE 072800 POC Brenda Brooks, Contract Specialist, Electronic Mail address: bb76n@nih.gov;(301) 435-2765 The Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (DMID) and the Division of AIDS (DAIDS), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH), have a requirement to support multicenter clinical studies of interventions for serious fungal and healthcare-associated resistant bacterial infections. The Bacteriology and Mycology Study Group (BAMSG) is being created to design and conduct these studies. Key aspects of the effort will be to: 1) formulate and implement a scientific research agenda; 2) establish a multicenter clinical studies group; 3) establish a clinical studies coordinating unit; 4) provide leadership and organization of the study group; and 5) conduct, complete and report the results of the clinical studies. Offerors responding to this RFP should also refer to the RFP for the Bacteriology and Mycology Biostatistical and Operations Unit (BAMBU), which is RFP NIH-NIAID-DMID-01-10. The BAMBU requirement is to establish a biostatistical and operations coordinating unit in support of present and future clinical studies of interventions for serious fungal and healthcare-associated resistant bacterial infections and chronic Lyme disease sponsored by NIAID, NIH. The BAMSG and BAMBU RFP's are being released simultaneously. Under RFP NIH-NIAID-DMID-01-11, it is anticipated that one (1) cost-reimbursement, completion type contract will be awarded for a period of five (5) years, beginning approximately April 1, 2001.
