Andrew Jernell, ajernell@email.usps.gov. 1. The United States Postal
Service (USPS) seeks to identify and pre-qualify direct providers
capable of comprehensive interactive design engineering (IDE) support
for its corporate web site. This support will assist the USPS in
improving its current web presence and develop the next generation
'solutions based and customer driven' web site interface. 2. Therefore,
USPS intends to select an entity to support the interactive design
engineering efforts for the current and future web presence. The USPS
operates its corporate web site, www.usps.com, as the primary USPS
internet channel. This web site was originally structured using a 'task
based and content driven' concept. The current web site requires
continuous improvement and needs to evolve to support the USPS
ecommerce strategy via this channel. The site must project a world
class image and provide for USPS e-commerce and other products,
services, and information to USPS consumers and businesses. 3. The USPS
will determine which entity, amongst interested providers, is most
suitable and capable for this purpose. The entity must have
comprehensive IDE expertise and be able to integrate performance in
multiple disciplines including; IDE strategy & tactics, channel
synchronization, design testing and measurement, usability, marketing,
branding, web site creative features and techniques, and banner
creation and management. The IDE must have expertise in the use of
BroadVision, Inc. products and tools and will be required to design
template changes for implementation within that software suite. 4. The
entity must clearly demonstrate the breadth and depth of their
resources, financial stability, client experience and general IDE niche
business motivation needed by USPS, a large, complex and diverse
organization. Pre-qualification shall be based on interested providers
written responses to the functional, technical and generic
requirements cited in USPS Business Opportunities Bulletin (BOB). Refer
to Business Opportunity Bulletin (see LINKDESC below),
citing the solicitation number included in this notice, to
access the specific BOB file containing additional details, formats and
criteria for this requirement. Posted 04/10/00 (W-SN443376). (0101) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0041 20000412\D-0011.SOL)
