The Internal Revenue Service is seeking to identify sources interested in providing development of a web-enabled Integrated Procurement System (IPS) using a Silverstream Application Server and development components. The current IRS Procurement system consists of two SUN Enterprise computers (models 3500 and 4000) running Solaris 2.6 operating system and applications utilizing PROGRESS RDBMS. The IRS is also willing to consider a conversion to ORACLE RDBMS. The system also interfaces and exchanges data with other external systems. Any software developed should function within the constraints of the existing operating environment and apply existing business logic. The main goals of this effort are to deliver an application that enhances the system functionality and provides an easy to use graphical interface and the ability to generate contract documents in a Microsoft Word format.
