The US EPA intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis, under the authority of FAR 6.301, with Horiba Instruments for the service of preventative and remedial maintenance on all Horiba instrumentation, benches, CVS units and dynamometers located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Preventative maintenance shall be performed once in a 6 month period and will include inspection and testing of equipment. The contractor shall clean, adjust and lubricate equipment specified according to manufacturer's recommendations and guidelines. The contractor shall also provide remedial maintenance any time the system is inoperative or operating with diminished capability. Replacement parts shall be paid by the Government at current contractor list prices. The anticipated period of performance is 05/01/00 through 10/31/00, with a 6 month option period. The equipment to be maintained includes software which is password protected and only Horiba personnel have access. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL.
