IAP, ARS, New York. The work will include a new 2,985 square meter
(32,130 square feet) 60 room Visiting Officers Quarters (VOQ). The main
portion of the two-story building will be constructed with load-bearing
masonry, brick and manufactured stone veneer and EIFS, precast hollow
core second floor slabs, premaunufactured metal roof trusses, concrete
slab on grade and composition shingle roofs. The story and a half
lobby will be constructed of laminated wood beams and deck with
composition shingles on load-bearing masonry columns. Windows for most
of the facility will be aluminum-clad wood frame with insulated
laminated glazing units. A hydraulic elevator will be provided in the
lobby area. New supporting utilities include, but is not limited to,
four pipe mechanical system, sprinkler system, fire detection system,
security system, electrical distribution, communications and plumbing.
Site development includes new concrete and asphalt drives and parking,
sidewalks andlandscaping. Available existing utilities at the site
include fire protection water, potable water, gas, sewer, telephone and
power. An existing building (bldg. 312) used as a visiting officers
quarters, will be demolished under this project. Removal of small
amounts of asbestos is required. In accordance with base Affirmative
Procurement policies, up to 40% of the demolished building will be
identified for salvage materials. Estimated cost is $5,000,000 --
$10,000,000. SIC code for this project is 1542. THIS IS NOT A SMALL
BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. Solicitation Number DACA27-00-B-0006 will be issued
o/a April 25, 2000, and the last day for receipt of bids will be
approximately May 25, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. (local time). There will be no
charge for this solicitation package and each request will be limited
to one package only. This project is available on CD ROM and the
Internet. Project files are portable document format (PDF) files and
can be viewed, navigated, or printed using adobe acrobat reader
(available on CD). System requirements are: 386- or 486-based personal
computer (486 recommended), Microsoft Windows 3.1 or greater, 4 MB
application RAM, 4 MB hard disk space, and compact disk drive.
