This project involves the construction of a concrete bridge abutments; one Forest Service designed abutment and one Contractor designed bridge abutment and the installation of a Government-furnished modular (bowstring) truss steel trail bridge on the Center Ridge trail, located on the Chugach National Forest near Anchorage, Alaska. The project site is located approximately 750 feet from the trailhead of the proposed Center Ridge Trail. The Center Ridge trailhead is located at the Turnagain Pass parking area, Milepost 68.1 of the Seward Highway. There is not an existing road or trail from the parking lot to the bridge site. The work also includes clearing and grubbing, excavation, embankment placement, and seeding associated with bridge mobilization and construction. There is no associated trail construction of this project. The estimated start work date is June 2000. The contract time will be 45 calendar days. Estimated price range for the project is between $25,000 and $100,000.
