70 -- FLUENT PERPETUAL AND ANNUAL PARALLEL SOFTWARE LICENSES (4) DUE 052600 POC Yvette Brown, Contract Specialist, 301-415-6507 The NRC intends to enter into a sole source purchase order with Fluent, Inc. for a two-process perpetual network license and four parallel only licenses, to perform computational fluid dynamic (CFD) code calculations to support review of licensing actions. CFD code calculations, at a minimum, solve these types of problems (all of which will involve complicated geometries): (1) spent fuel pool simulations; (2) boron dilution studies; (3) cold water injection; (4) analysis with non-condensibles; and (5) valve opening and closing. As a result, NRC is in need of a computational code which has the following minimum requirements: (1) unstructured solver; (2) hybrid meshing capability; (3) solution adaptive meshing within the framework of an unstructured solver; (4) multi-phase flow capability within the framework of an unstructured solver; (5) parallel solver; (6) CAD based pre-processor; (7) multiple turbulence models; and (8) radiation modeling within the framework of an unstructured solver. The Fluent code is the only code that NRC is aware of that meets all of these requirements. A solicitation document does NOT exist.
