Air Force Research Laboratory, (AFRL/MLKH) solicits research proposals for the Predictive Failures & Advanced Diagnostics for Legacy Aircraft Program. The purpose of this effort is to research and develop technologies that enhance the logistics community's ability to predict and diagnose failures to aircraft systems. This program will provide specialized technical research to develop, demonstrate, and evaluate technology to enhance aircraft diagnostics and to investigate and develop technology to predict aircraft component failures. The objective of this program is to reduce aircraft downtime by enhancing the capability of maintainers to identify the causes of system failures through better diagnostics, and, where possible, identify imminent system failures (failure prognostics) so that repairs can be made before an actual failure occurs.
