The Internal Revenue Service has a requirement to acquire per-call, on-site maintenance (parts and labor) of Government-owned microcomputers, and associated peripherals located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area mail-in depot maintenance of laptop computers for IRS offices nationwide. This equipment includes microcomputers, printers, scanners, monitors, CD ROM devices, tape drives, modems, etc. The principal period of performance for maintenance coverage is anticipated to be Monday through Friday, between 8:00 AM _ 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, exclusive of federal holidays. This acquisition will also require a Depot/Service Center which includes establishing and staffing a depot facility for receiving, repairing, and returning laptop and notebook computers, and associated peripherals. The IRS shall mail-in the laptop and notebook computer for maintenance on an as-needed basis. The laptop and notebook computers will be shipped by the users to this facility. These computers are in use by IRS Revenue Agents nationwide including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. The contract will consist of one base year with two one year optional periods of performance. The acquisition will be offered for competition and is limited to eligible 8(a) firms. All interested 8(a) firms are encouraged to request a copy of the solicitation. The applicable SIC code for this acquisition is 7378. The RFP will be released on the internet at the following address: http://procurement.irs.gov.
