Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform
drydocking and repairs including but not limited to the following base
items: (1) Renew Barge Deck Framing, (2) Renew Barge Shell and Bottom
Plating, (3) Renew Barge Bulkhead Plating and Framing, (4) Clean and
Inspect Diesel Fuel Tank(s), (5) Tank Cleaning, Inspection, Fuel
Removal and Disposal, (6) Clean, Inspect Ballast Tank(s), (7) Preserve
Ballast Tanks, (8) Preserve 6,927-Gallon Barge Tank, Starboard, (9)
Remove, Inspect, Repair, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts, (10) Remove,
Inspect, Repair, and Reinstall Intermediate Shafts, (11) Renew
Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings, (12) Remove and Reinstall Propellers,
(13) Perform Propeller Minor Repair and Reconditioning, (14) Remove,
Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies for Steering ASND Flanking
Systems, (15) Clean and Test Grid Coolers, (16) Renew Fuel Oil Piping,
(17) Overhaul Fuel Oil Transfer Pump and Motor, (18) Gaylord Hood
(tender); Engine Room (tender); Engine Room (barge); Intake Engine
(tender, (19) Overhaul, Renew, and Test Valves, (20) Inspect and Test
Air Receivers and Relief Valves, (21) Overhaul Fire Pump and Motor,
(22) Renew Tender Towing Knees, (23) Preserve Spud and Spud Well on
Tender and Barge, (24) Inspect, Overhaul and Test Barge Boat Davit,
(25) Overhaul Barge Air Capstan, (26) Fabricate and Install New Sewage
Tank, (27) Perform Non-Destructive Testing of Various Deck Fittings,
(28) Modify Joiner Bulkhead Opening, (29) Preserve Barge Buoy Deck,
(30) Preserve Underwater Body, (31) Preserve Freeboard, (32) Provide
Temporary Logistics, and (33) Routine Drydocking. Optional Items
include but are not limited to the following: (1) Welding Repairs, (2)
Remove and Dispose of Additional Diesel Fuel (500 Gallons), (3)
Preserve Potable Water Tank(s), (4) Shaft Repairs, (5) Renew Rudder
Lower Bearing Trunk, (6) Renew Upper Bearing Housing and Upper Bearing
Housing Support, (7) Tender Spud Well Liner Renewal, (8) Barge Spud
Well Liner Renewal, (9) Preserve Bulkhead and Overhead Surfaces in
Lazarette, (10) Preserve Weather Decks, (11) Ultrasonic Testing, (12)
Provide Additional Temporary Logistics, (13) Composite Labor Rate, and
(14) Laydays. Vessel_s homeport is Hickman, Kentucky. Vessel length is
75-Foot Tender and 130-Foot Barge. Vessel_s minimum depth of water is
seven feet (7_). Vessel_s height clearance is forty-one (41) Feet.
Vessel_s availability is for fifty-four (54) days, starting 14 August
2000. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East
Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. A non-refundable charge
of $150.00 is required, in the form of a certified check or money order
payable to the U.S. Coast Guard, for requested drawings. Drawings are
now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters
and will be free of charge to contractors upon request. This
procurement is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness
Demonstration Program. All Businesses, large and small, are encouraged
to submit bids for the subject requirements. Plans and specifications
will be issued on or about 5 May 2000. All responsible sources may
submit a bid, which shall be considered by the United States Coast
Guard. _ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business
Enterprises (DBEs). The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short Term
Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of
lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation
related contracts. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.00. For
