063000 POC Linda Wong (415) 561-5352 The Presidio Trust, a Federal
government corporation, is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to
perform abatement, salvage, deconstruction and demolition services at
the site of the former Letterman Hospital Complex, located at the
Presidio of San Francisco. The Presidio is a National Park and a
Historic Landmark. Scope of services may include but is not limited to:
(a) Demolition of Building Nos. 1100, 1105, 1110 & 1111 and
associated smaller structures, including utilities; (b) Salvage of
existing equipment; (c) Abatement and disposal of hazardous materials
(i.e., asbestos, lead-based paint and PCBs); (d) Recycling of metals,
concrete, and other specified materials; (e) Hauling and disposal of
all other waste items; and (f) Site grading. Estimated start date is in
September 2000 with a six (6) month performance period. Minimum
qualifications include: contractor's license; asbestos/lead abatement
license; bonding capacity; and minimum ten (10) years demolition
experience. Bid guarantee and performance & payment bonds will be
required. Proposals will be evaluated based upon criteria set forth in
the Request for Proposals (RFP), including but not limited to:
Proposed deconstruction approach; Proposed Price (including salvage
credit); Experience with projects of similar scope and complexity; Past
Performance; Proposed Project Team; and Proposed Outreach Efforts.
Small Business subcontracting goals will be specified in the RFP.

RFP available o/a May 5, 2000 with proposals due o/a June 30, 2000. A
MANDATORY pre-proposal meeting & site visit is scheduled for May
19, 2000 and is limited to prime contractors only. DATES ARE TENTATIVE
AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Project cost is estimated between $7 and $10
million. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 1795. The
Presidio Trust is a whollyowned federal government corporation and is
