The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate with Coherent Laser Group for a Sapphire CW Ring Dye Laser System, Item number 899-21 Ti, with the following specifications: 1) Fundamental wavelength coverage 710 -- 975 nm; 2) Stabilized laser linewidth <500 kHz RMS; 3) Single frequency mode-break-free scan width 20 GHz; 4) Maximum pump power 15 Watts; 5) Output power with maximum pump power 1.4 Watts at 800 nm; 6) Output power across above tuning range not less than 0.7 Watts; 7) Frequency drift 50 MHz/hr; 8) Scan linearity equal to or greater than 1%; 9) Amplitude noise from 10 Hz to 1 MHz 2% RMS; 10) Output spatial mode TEM00; 11) Output polarization mode purity, Vertical; 12) Scan Time 0.25 to 625 sec; 13) Warranty 1 year on parts and labor.****The Coherent laser is the only one capable of meeting the combined specifications of output power and single-frequency narrow-band tunibility across the possible tuning range.**** The required delivery is 56 days after receipt of order, FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD. The statutory authority is 41USC 254 (c)(1), only one responsible source that can meet the requirements of the Government. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302.
