rvaldez@usgs.gov. The U.S. Geological Survey, Geologic Division, has a
requirement to conduct underwater scientific study, video and still
photographic documentation, water and rock sampling, and temperature
measurements of hot springs, hot spring deposits, and craters and
fissures on the floor of Yellowstone Lake using a specialized
submersible remotely operated vehicle (ROV). USGS shall require 14 days
of submersible investigations during July or August 2000, at numerous
localities in the northern and West Thumb portions of the lake.
Contractor shall provide the following: Personnel: The contractor shall
provide personnel on-site who are experienced in all facets of science
related ROV operations. Personnel shall have substantial prior
experience in support of science operations on Yellowstone Lake,
including solid phase sampling techniques, discrete water sampling
techniques, cinematography and photo documentation. Personnel shall
also be fully licensed for vessel operation by the Department of the
Interior and additionally licensed for operations on Yellowstone Lake
