The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a modification under an existing contract with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company) of St. Louis, Missouri 63166, to provide Phase 3, Part 2, Production Line Transition (PLT) services. Specifically, the effort involves a continuing requirement for completing an efficient and orderly shutdown of the F/A 18 A/B/C/D production line. It also involves requirements and resources needed for in-service support of F/A 18 A/B/C/D aircraft and the requirements to provide a complete and cost effective method to deliver the 13 Manufacturing Data Elements to NADEP North Island. McDonnell Douglas is the designer, developer, sole manufacturer and integrator of the F/A 18 aircraft in its various configurations and is the only source with the knowledge, expertise and facilities necessary to accomplish this effort within the timeframe required by the Government.
