The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the procurement of training and technical assistance to the housing industry on accessibility design and construction for multifamily housing under the Fair Housing Act. HUD intends to acquire these services through full and open competition, using best value source selection procedures. This acquisition requires the services and materials necessary to develop a curriculum, a technical assistance component, and provide a pilot training course. Two option periods are anticipated in which the project will implement the training and technical assistance programs at HUD regional locations. The period of performance is anticipated to begin on or about September 1, 2000 for a period of one year, with provisions for two one-year option periods. A Firm-Fixed Price Type Contract is anticipated. The formal solicitation will be available for download via the Internet on or about May 5, 2000. Note that the above dates are subject to change and it is the responsibility of the interested parties to periodically check the solicitation status either through checking the Internet or by calling the Contracting Officer. The duration of the contract including option periods is expected to be three years.
