W -- RENTAL OF VACUUM BLAST AND RECOVERY SYSTEMS SOL N00102-0098402-1 DUE 041800 POC Sherry Beal, Contracting Officer, Code 531.1X, (207) 438-1320 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written formal solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-15, Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 13. Rental of (4) vacuum blast and recovery systems to be located at Lower Subbase New London, Groton, CT and to begin 5/2/00 and continue through 7/18/00. System to be equal to Schmidt Blast and Recovery System. If quoting on an equal system, specification sheet(s) and identification of differences must be submitted with quote. If this information is not submitted, the quote will not be considered. Quote must include the following: weekly rental rate per system; weekly rental rates for the following equipment to be provided with each system: 150 feet of one-inch blast hose, 150 feet of three-inch vacuum hose, 150 feet of two-inch air hose, vacuum head with outer brush, deadman on each unit, and six (6) nozzles. Quote shall also include pricing for the following additional items to be purchased for each system: six (6) wear tubes, six (6) wear heads, and six (6) brushes. Equipment shall be delivered by the contractor in first class operating condition with complete operating instructions. The contractor shall be responsible for the following: a. Equipment failure not arising out of abuse or negligence by the Government; b. All routine maintenance, except for daily checks of liquid levels. The contractor shall provide a point of contact and telephone number for use in requesting service 24 hours/day if problems arise with the equipment. Service shall be provided within 24 hours after notification by the Contracting Officer (or his designated representative). In the event the equipment cannot be returned to service within 48 hours of the original notification, replacement equipment shall be delivered at no extra charge to the Government. Quotes are due no later than 18 April 2000 at 3:00 pm local time at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Supply Dept/Purchase Div., FAX 207-438-1251.
