The work of this project consists of maintenance and improvement dredging of the Wells Harbor Federal Project and municipal marina areas. Approximately 180,000 cubic yards of material will be dredged. The Federal Project work includes maintenance dredging of channels and an anchorage, and improvement dredging of a repositioned settling basin. The municipal project work consists of dredging berthing and access areas at the two Municipal landings on the east and west sides of the inner harbor. Dredging shall be performed by hydraulic plant with the sand pumped on to two beaches, north and south of the harbor inlet. The estimated cost of the work is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Due to environmental and other restrictions, no work at the site will be permitted before 7 September 2000. The successful contractor will be given 120 calendar days to complete the work. Specifications will be available on or about 5/10/00.
