Drive, Ventura, CA 93001 19 -- ACQUISITION OF A 65' ALUMINUM CREW BOAT SOL 1443RP8120-00-001
POC Kim R, Glass 805/658-5713 Channel Islands National Park, Ventura,
CA, has a requirement for one 65' twin screw, geared diesel drive,
aluminum crew boat outfitted for the carriage of passengers and deck
cargo. The boat shall be constructed in accordance with the performance
specification for commercial item which will be included with the
request for proposal. The primary mission of the crew boat is to
transport cargo and personnel to offshore islands which are off the
Southern California coast ranging from 12 to 65 miles over open ocean
from park headquarters. Guidance principal characteristics of this
vessel are: a maximum overall length (molded) 75', minimum length
overall (molded) 63', minimum breadth (molded at the deck) 18',
approximate depth at side (molded amidships) 7'-10", approximate desigh
draft (extreme) 5', service speeds at 80% rated power when running on
No. 2 diesel oil: 16 knots with full consumables, maximum deck load and
24 passengers, 18 knots with full consumables, half deck load and 12
passengers, 20 knotswith full consumables, no deck load and 4
passengers, deck cargo capacity: 12,000-18,000 lbs, fuel capacity:
approximately 1600 gallons at 95% (500-mile range at any of the speed
scenarios listed above), lube oil capacity: 30 gallons at 95%, potable
water capacity (mimimum): 400 gallons at 100%, sewage hold capacity:
75 gallons at 95%. The boat shall be powered by Caterpillar diesel
engines equipped to operate on both No. 2 diesel and bio-diesel.
Propulsion power shall be provided by two engines driving through
reverse reduction marine transmissions. Propulsion shall be provided by
fixed pitch propellers. Critical electrical power shall de DC, provided
by engine driven alternators and storage batteries. Auxiliary electric
power shall be provided by one 20 KW Northern Lights diesel driven AC
generator. We anticipate delivery of this vessel 10 months after award
of contract. F.O.B. destination charges apply. Delivery destination
will be the Long Beach, CA. It is anticipated the release date will be
Wednesday, April 26, 2000. Proposals will be due thirty (30) calendar
days from the ACTUAL date of issue. Interested parties shall request
