The contract will require the Contractor to travel over approx. 1,030
miles of designated forest roads on the Boise National Forest for
Condition Inventory Survey. The purpose of this survey is to obtain
data on the present maintenance condition of these roads as they
pertain to Deferred and Annual Maintenance protocol. The Contractor
will make on the ground visual inspections and measurements of roads.
Examples of these measurements are, but not limited to, cubic yardage
of slides, bank slough, condition of culverts, surface grading and any
work items that require attention. The Contractor will use a hand held
Trimble data recorder containing a pre-installed data dictionary to
record the type of work required to meet the assigned Deferred and
Annual Maintenance levels. The Contractor will also use the Trimble
data recorder and Global Positioning System (GPS) to collect spatial
location of these roads. The Contractor will refer to the Road
Management Objective (RMO) document for Objective and Operational
maintenance levels and other pertinent road information. Est. start
