NASA/MSFC plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to provide the labor, equipment, and materials to remove existing roofing and insulation and installing a new modified bitumen roofing system at Buildings 4467,4567, and 4702. At Building 4491, a new metal, standing seam retrofit roofing system shall be installed. At Building 4348, the existing metal roof panels will be removed and replaced with new metal, standing seam roof panels. Work at Building 4348 will bid as an option that can be exercised at any time during the performance period of the base contract. All requests must be in writing and contain the complete company name, address, and phone/fax numbers. Requests for IFB packages must include a cashiers' check in the amount of $25.00, made payable to "NASA CASHIER". Award of this project is contingent upon the availability of funds. Safety records of the prime contractor and subcontractors will be a consideration at award time and the prime contractor must have an EXPERIENCE MODIFICATION RATING (EMR) 0F 1.0 OR LESS AND PROOF INCLUDED WITH BID. THE PRIME'S SUBCONTRACTOR'S EMR RATING SHALL BE NO MORE THAN 1.1. REQUESTS FOR IFB WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED LESS THAN FIFTEEN DAYS PRIOR TO BID OPENING. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000.00 AND $1,000,000.00 and the effort shall be completed within 360 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. [See Note 1]. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1541 and $17M, respectively. The firm date for receipt of bids will be stated in the IFB. Drawings and Specs are on diskette and will be available from the Bid Distribution Office. The anticipated release date of the IFB package is on or about April 28, 2000, with an anticipated closing date on or about May 29, 2000.
