E-MAIL: George Robertson, NONE. This is a notification of the intention of the Government to solicit quotations under solicitation number 00Q055. This action is a 100% small business set-aside. The SIC code is 1761 and the size standard is $7 million. The U.S. Secret Service has a requirement for metal ammunition tables and barricades. The following information is provided: 36" wide x 144" long stainless steel ammunition tables with casters, 3 each; and 12" wide x 76" high aluminum shooting barricades, 48 each. The contractor shall perform an on-site inspection of the existing wooden structures and present a quotation with identification of materials, dimensions, thickness of metal, and other tolerances, proposed by the contractor in a brief written description. Quotations will be evaluated for technical performance adequacy/inadequacy. The Government does not have a drawing, but will allow a limited number of potential quoters to view the existing structures to be replaced under this contract in an on-site inspection. Pursuant to the Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR 13.104, the Contracting Officer has determined that competition will be obtained to the maximum extent feasible. POTENTIAL QUOTERS MUST RESPOND BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS NOTICE WITH A FAX REQUEST TO BE INCLUDED IN THE ON-SITE VIEWING OF THE EXISTING AMMUNITION TABLE AND SCREENS TO BE REPLACED UNDER THIS PURCHASE ORDER. GIVEN THE UNKNOWN POTENTIAL NUMBER OF RESPONSES WHICH CAN BE RECEIVED UNDER AN INTERNET ANNOUNCEMENT OF THIS KIND, THE GOVERNMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF RESPONDEES TO THE FIRST THREE FAXES RECEIVED, DUE TO THE NECESSITY OF SECURITY SCREENING AND THE AVAILABILITY OF GOVERNMENT PERSONNEL TO CONDUCT ON-SITE INSPECTIONS. Quotations submitted without an on-site inspection by that company will not be considered. Delivery terms must be proposed in the quotation -- a completion timeframe of no more than 60 days is anticipated. Quotations will be firm-fixed price. Award will be made to the technically-acceptable quotation from a responsible quoter with the lowest price.
