International Development, West Bank & Gaza Mission seeks to
contract for the services of a United States construction contractor
(USAID country code 000) or joint ventures of United States firms, to
submit bids for construction of additions to a water supply system and
groundwater monitoring wells in the West Bank. The contractor will be
required to provide and install or construct all goods, equipment, and
materials for a complete system which will include remotely located
monitoring wells and new production wells. Construction is anticipated
to include: 1) Approximately 16.4 km of cement lined, steel, water
pipe. Pipe sizes range from 300 mm to 600 mm and will be rated for a
pressure of 40 bar. 2) Drilling and development of two production wells
with upper casing diameter of 18 5/8" and lower casing diameter of 13
3/8". Depth of wells is anticipated to be 800 m and 850 m. 3) Drill and
develop one production well, 450 m deep and 13 3/8" casing to 350m. 4)
Drillingeight monitoring wells to depths of 400 m to 800 m. with
casings diameter of 9 5/8" in. 5) Install pumps and motors in four
production wells (two wells drilled and cased under a previous
contract.) Typical pump settings are 450-550 m below ground level. 6)
Construct wellhead facilities at four production well sites, including
1,500 m3 balancing tanks, 300m3 /hr @ 320 tdh pumping stations and
other ancillary buildings and equipment. 7) Construct wellhead
facilities at eight monitoring well sites. 8) Construction of
retrofitted, permanent power facilities at three existing locations. 9)
Coordination with the existing water transmission system. 10)
Coordination with local utility installation of power facilities. The
IFB will be distributed on/about April 28, 2000. Prospective bidders
may choose to purchase one of the following sets: SET A; IFB Documents
including one full size set of drawings and one reduced set of
drawings, or SET B; IFB Documents including one reduced set of
drawings. A certified check in the amount of $1,000 for SET A, or $200
for SET B, must be made in the name of "US Embassy -- Tel Aviv" and
received with the request for the IFB documents. Address the requests

IFB. Purchase of the IFB (SET A), and attending the Pre-Bid meeting,
including site visits, is required for those intending to submit a bid.
The pre-bid conference and site visits are anticipated to start
on/about May 16, 2000. The anticipated date for submitting bids is
