sources sought synopsis. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center --
San Diego (SPAWARSYSCEN-SD) is seeking qualified Small Business
sources for Computer Systems Operation and Hardware Maintenance /
Technical Support for the Combat Direction System Development and
Evaluation Sites (CDES) located in Building C60 and Building 600-C at
SSC San Diego, and in Building 24 at Fleet Combat Training Center
Pacific (FCTCP), San Diego, California. The scope of work for the
activities described herein is limited to the Installing/De-installing,
Maintaining, Testing, Troubleshooting and Repairing of all commercial
computer systems, personal computers, tactical displays, military
computer systems, peripherals and support equipment. Additionally, the
activities provide for the Operation and Administration of the
combined commercial and military computer laboratories/facilities. The
draft Statement of Work, Personnel Qualifications, and Equipment List
for this requirement are also available for viewingon the SPAWAR
Business Opportunities Website, under Future Opportunities at
"http//e-commerce.spawar.navy.mil". Should a sufficient number of
technically qualified/capable 8(a), Small Disadvantaged Business
contractors respond, this requirement may be set-aside for exclusive
competition amongst 8 (a) firms. Interested parties are invited to
respond to this sources sought announcement by providing, at a minimum,
the following: (a) company overview including areas of expertise,
company size, and locations of facilities; (b) discussion of your
organizational experience in performing similar relevant work; (c)
discussion of your organizational past performance (i.e. quality) in
performing similar relevant work; and (d) proposed technical approach
for this effort. Interested parties must submit this information, via
e-mail to hartsaw@spawar.navy.mil, not later than 24 April 2000. Do not
submit more than 10 pages in total. Contingent upon the results of this
sources sought announcement; the Government may issue anRFP for these
services as a 100% set-aside for qualified 8(a), Small Disadvantaged
Business firms. The Government currently estimates that such an RFP
would utilize an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type contract
with a Cost Plus Fixed Fee pricing arrangement; and an estimated level
of effort of 14,473 man-hours per year for five years. Expected period
of performance for this task is 60 months with no additional priced
options. Anticipated release date for any resultant solicitation is 03
