N -- REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING ELEVATOR SOL 1443-FB-1940-A0-006 POC Kathy Craine, Procurement Technician 212-363-3206 ext. 113 The National Park Service requires a contractor to replace an existing rack & pinion elevator located inside the Statue of liberty on Liberty Island, New York. The project will include but is not limited to the following: Lowering and removal of the existing car, designing and installing the new variable frequency drive car, and correcting any and all deficiencies to the safeties including rewiring all necessary systems. The total travel of the unit is approximately 229 feet and is currently off-line. All work will comply with ANSI A17.1 as required for this type of elevator, Special Purpose Elevators in Part XV of the code and NFPA 70 National Electrical Code. All work done on site will be performed "off-hours" -- between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. All requests must be in writing. No telephone requests.
