this project consists of the construction of a 26,430 sq. ft. Dormitory
Building containing thirty-nine (39) sleeping rooms, two (2) laundry
rooms, lounge, study and office space and shower/toilet areas at the
Brunswick Job Corps Center located in Brunswick, Georgia. The estimated
period of performance for construction is scheduled for 396 calendar
days from receipt of notice to proceed through completion of project.
The estimated cost range is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. The
initial Plans and Specifications will be available on June 6, 2000,
only from the Architect/Engineer firm of Lott and Barber Architects,
110 East President Street, Suite 300, Savannah, Georgia 31401. Contact
Mr. Forrest Lott (912) 234-5230 for additional information regarding
this project. Collect calls will not be accepted. It is emphasized that
requests for plans and specifications should be directed to the A/E
firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. Request will
be limited to the issuance of one complete set per request from any
interested party. Plans and specifications will be made available for
pick-up at the A/E's office, or may be arranged for delivery at an
additional charge. Any additional shipping and/or handling charges must
be pre-paid and COD request will not be accepted. All requests must be
in writing and will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis
until supplies are exhausted. For additional sets requested by
interested parties, or for requests made after the supply is exhausted,
the Contracting Officer may determine whether a non-refundable fee, not
to exceed the actual cost of reproduction of the IFB documents, plus a
shipping charge based on each individual request (if applicable), will
be required in order to obtain the IFB document. In accordance with the
solicitation provision at FAR 52.237-1 Site Visit, bidders are urged
and expected to inspect the site where services are to be performed and
to satisfy themselves regarding all general and local conditions that
may effect the cost of contract performance, to the extent reasonably
obtainable. In no event shall failure to inspect the site consitute
grounds for a claim after contract award. Therefore, a Pre-Bid
walk-through is scheduled for June 12, 2000, at 2:00 p.m. local time at
the Center. This will be the only opportunity to review the job site
prior to submission of bids. The bid Opening date is scheduled for July
13, 2000, at 2:00 p.m. local time at the A/E's office. This is a 100%
Small Business Set-Aside acquisition. The Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) code is 1542. The Small Business Size Standard is
